Agile Experience Design

Integrating the Agile and Experience Design Practices

Are you currently practicing some form of Agile UX? Do you have a case study you'd like to share? Do you perhaps have a success story or a story of how you attempted to Adopt Agile methods and how it failed miserably? Have you perhaps developed a new technique, tool, or process for integrating Agile and UX?

I am collecting case studies for my book and would love to hear from you. Any case studies used can be made anonymous at your request (i.e. project, company, and team member names will be replaced with fictional names.) and you will of course be duly credited.

If you have a case study you would like to share, please contact me directly at andersr at gmail dot com. Please include a brief description and what lessons were learned.

Thanks!

I'm a Dutch student UX at the Rotterdam University and currently I'm doing research about the possibilities of Agile UX for webagencies in the Netherlands.
Also I was a UX designer at the citycouncil Rotterdam for 9 months where we developed softwareapplications for citizens and employees of Rotterdam in a Agile way.
My enthousiasm and passion for Agile started here because I was the first designer at this department (maybe even the first one at this citycouncil) and had to start (and learn) working with Agile as a (junior) UX designer. From within school and as freelancer I learned developing and designing products the 'waterfall-way' so this workflow (way of life, a Scrummaster would say) was completely new to me, but I really fell in love with Agile during this period! I can talk for hours about my experiences during my time at this department, about my learning curve and things that went wrong and well during my presence in this team (consisting of 100% programming people!). If you are interested in the rest of my story just email me at oudenaardenjasper at gmail dot com ;-)
But also the other way around: Can I ask you questions if I have any about my research about Agile UX? Would be really great! (Of course I can use these credits for a nice thesis!)

This is a nice case study:
http://www.thoughtworks.com/pdfs/trainline.pdf

The UX part is not very clear from the text, but Thoughtworks does advertise on their site that they practice UCD in their agile projects. (and it was posted in discussion by a thoughtworks employee as an example of ux+agile)
